The Background
On a visit to The Arundel Ghost experience last year, I was hugely impressed by the unique surroundings of the Town Hall Cells, the spooky tales told within their dark and imposing walls, and the atmosphere behind the iron bars previously used to restrain strange and forboding characters...awaiting their fate for their misdemeanours...
An idea came to me, and it reminded me of The Cavern where The Beatles made their debut. The cobbled floor and arches screamed out to be used for a much needed smoochy, bluesy club for those in Arundel and surrounding villages and towns with a more discerning taste.
I approached two local and very talented musicians from Arundel and lo and behold ... Jailhouse Blues was born.
The venue, with it's dense walls and high ceilings lends itself spectacularly to the fabulous acoustics and smooth sounds made possible by Will Hall and varying guest musicians.
Now it is home to one of Arundel's most sought after nights out.
